Road Construction

So Warner is under construction - which is fine because I understand that roads need love too - but does it have to be under construction during "rush hour"? I mean, I realize that if you took the rush hour(s) out of the equation there would probably be something like 3 hours left for those poor vest-clad men to work, but still... The fact of the matter is that there are a whole lot more of us (the people stuck in the construction-caused traffic) than there are of them (the vest-clad men). They should be more considerate, though it's not like it matters. By design we (the drivers) are a timid bunch. Sure, we curse and shake our fists and hold up certain fingers but that's only because we're inside a car. As soon as we step out of the car we're no longer safe. Our coat of armor has been removed. In this new state we are not very suitably matched against those butt crack-exposing, vest-clad men. So, instead of taking our frustrations out on the people causing the traffic, we take them out on each other. Myself being a prime example. Today, on several occasions, I didn't let someone in front of me. Yeah, they followed all the rules. Turn signal; Check. Start to slowly pull into desired lane; Check. But not on my watch. I nonchalantly pulled ahead, succesfully blocking these invaders from getting in front of me. Me! What nerve! Why should they get to be ahead of me? I've been in this traffic just as long as they have. I had a crappy day at work just like they (may or may not) have. So, instead of throwing fingers or curse words, I threw manners out the window. Come on, I'll never see these people again. Well, I probably will but it's not like we're on first name basis or anything. Either way, now I'm home and I don't have any regrets. Call me selfish. All I know is that it got me home a few seconds faster than I would have if I had let them take advantage of me. Besides, I had my pride to think of.
